Response to a brief on the theme of “translation” in the context of a rapidly shrinking and interconnected world, for an exhibiton held in the Central Academy of Fine Arts, Beijing in April 2009.

"Hello" is almost always the first word learnt when learning a new language and has been translated to over 200 languages. I wanted to translate the sound captured when "hello" is said in two different languages into a visually comprehensible format. Each part of the soundwave was recreated with the "hello" in the corresponding language, giving the viewer a better idea of how the sound looks like.
